Otteson Shapiro is pleased to announce that Peter J. Morgan has joined the firm’s Denver office as a partner. Mr. Morgan represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation.

Steve Shapiro, managing partner and chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Practice Group said: “We are very excited to welcome Peter to Otteson Shapiro.  His deep knowledge of and extensive experience with insurance coverage will be an invaluable asset to the firm’s already strong insurance recovery practice. “

In his more than 25-year career, Mr. Morgan represented insurance companies in connection with claims arising out of out of nearly every type of available insurance. These include commercial general liability, professional liability, property, builders’ risk, excess, umbrella, fidelity, E&O, D&O, homeowners, automobile, uninsured/underinsured motorist, personal and advertising injury, and life insurance.

Mr. Morgan has successfully litigated and tried cases in state and federal district courts, state and federal appellate courts, and in arbitration.

He also lectures on insurance coverage and claim handling issues.

Since 2013 Mr. Morgan has maintained an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating with Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards.

He has also been named to the list of Colorado Super Lawyers® 2019 – 2021 and 2023 – 2024, for his work in Insurance Coverage.

In his free time, Mr. Morgan enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their two college-aged boys. He also volunteers his time to local groups including Breakthrough Alliance of Colorado and Denver Samaritan House.
