John Podvin Moderates ICBC Community Banker Roundtables Across Colorado
Otteson Shapiro partner John Podvin recently participated in the 2026 Independent Community Bankers of Colorado (ICBC) Community Banker Roundtables, serving as moderator for regulator panels held in Wiley, Alamosa, Durango, Greeley and Denver. The events brought together community bankers and representatives from state and federal regulatory agencies to discuss legislative developments, supervisory priorities and issues affecting Colorado’s banking industry.

As part of each roundtable, Podvin introduced and moderated discussions featuring representatives from the Colorado Division of Banking, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The conversations provided attendees with direct insight into current regulatory expectations and emerging industry trends.

Among the topics discussed was the growing use of artificial intelligence within financial services. During the roundtables, regulators highlighted two recently released U.S. Treasury resources designed to support responsible AI adoption in the financial sector: an Artificial Intelligence Lexicon and a Financial Services AI Risk Management Framework. The guidance is intended to help financial institutions establish common AI terminology, strengthen risk management practices and evaluate AI use cases as adoption continues to expand across the industry.

Podvin regularly advises financial institutions on regulatory, transactional and operational matters.
